I am developing a sort of ride share site. It will have social networking features. People can ask for rides and drivers can offer rides. A simplification but that's the main idea.

I am thinking of using Wordpress + Buddypress + Pods for this. Can anyone comment if that seems to be a good idea. Is there something better? I need to allow both drivers and riders to give the other one feedback on their service or level of curtesy so that people get ratings. I need to incorporate mapping functionality, secure texting and email communication etc.

The obvious data structures beyond persons are Rides and Routes. Rides are rides, e.g. person, time,place,destination, contact info etc. Routes are combinations of rides that make somewhat contiguous routes so that drivers can plan out multiple-stop trips.

Just wondering if Pods is a good way to go here. Might also be looking for some help. Is it OK to post consulting offers on here?
